This in-depth technical workshop teaches students how to create a resist for a full head cover type mask; plan and build up the bird’s characteristic features, achieve facial symmetry, create types of plumage, and how to felt all the 3-dimensional parts together, and how to sculpt and shape the felt. Despite the technical focus of this workshop, there is plenty of space for creative expression within the design of each mask.
